Because this work leaves little time for elaborate meals, they developed a practical solution. By grinding rock salt with locally available spices such as cumin, garlic, chillies, and other regional ingredients, often mixed with black salt and rock salt, on a Sil-Batta (traditional stone grinder), they created a flavourful seasoning blend. This allowed them to enjoy a simple meal of rotis with their homemade salt while working together in the forest.
